Pranayama Mastery — The Art and Science of Conscious Breath
A structured breathwork workshop at Mindful Shapes Yoga that goes far beyond counting inhales and exhales. Learn the classical techniques, physiology behind each practice, and build a sustainable daily pranayama routine that transforms your mind and body.
Why Most People Never Discover the True Power of Breath
Most yoga students spend years in asana practice without ever seriously studying pranayama. Yet the ancient texts are unanimous: breath is the bridge between the body and the mind. Mastering the breath is mastering the nervous system — which means mastering stress, sleep, focus, and emotional regulation.
This workshop at Mindful Shapes Yoga is not a brief overview. It is a deep, methodical immersion into the classical pranayama techniques — each one explained with both the traditional context from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and modern respiratory physiology so you understand exactly what is happening in your body and why.
Whether you join our online class packages from home or attend on-campus at Pedhambee, Chiplun, you will leave with a clear, practical home practice you can sustain for life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know yoga or asana to attend?
Not at all. Pranayama is an independent practice and you do not need any asana background. You need only the ability to sit comfortably for periods of 10–20 minutes. All seating options including chairs are available for those with limited flexibility.
Is pranayama safe for everyone?
Most pranayama practices are very safe. However, some advanced techniques like Kapalbhati and Bhastrika have contraindications for high blood pressure, epilepsy, recent surgery, or pregnancy. We screen all participants and ensure that everyone practises techniques appropriate to their condition. Our instructors are trained to offer safe modifications.
What is the difference between online and on-campus classes?
Online classes are live sessions you join from home, with the same curriculum and instructor guidance plus recording access if you miss one. On-campus classes are held in person at Pedhambee, Chiplun, with direct, hands-on correction from the instructor. Both formats cover the same techniques — choose based on convenience or your preference for in-person practice.
Can I join as a complete beginner?
Yes. All packages — 12, 24, and 60 classes, online or on-campus — are structured to work for beginners. The 12-class package builds your foundation, and the 24 and 60-class packages let you progress further into intermediate and advanced techniques at your own pace.
Are recordings available if I miss a class?
Yes, for online packages. Every online class is recorded, and the 24 and 60-class packages include extended recording access so you never lose progress even if you miss a live session. On-campus classes are attended in person and are not recorded.
